Day 1: New Zealand– – Xian
Your experience begins today as you fly out of New Zealand and towards Xi’an. A tour representative greets you upon arrival and you have the rest of the day as free time once you have checked into the hotel.

Day 2: Xian (B,L,D)
The first stop of today is sure to be one of the most memorable of the tour: the Terracotta Army. This incredible site was only discovered in 1974 and comprises life-size statues of warriors, archers and cavalry. The Army visit is followed by a trip to a ceramic arts factory. Tonight, enjoy an Imperial dumpling banquet and traditional Tang Dynasty singing and dancing show.
Day 3: Xian – Beijing (B,L)
Make for the Shaanxi Provincial History Museum this morning. Then, watch a noodle-making demonstration and enjoy a noodle lunch. It is then onto Giant Wild Goose Pagoda and the Ancient City Wall. Catch a flight to Beijing in the evening.
Day 4: Beijing (B,L,D)
Your time in Beijing begins by seeing Tiananmen Square and the fascinating Forbidden City. Learn about both of these landmarks as you go. Feast to your first night in Beijing with a traditional Peking duck dinner.
Day 5: Beijing (B, L)
Journey to Juyong Pass at the legendary Great Wall of China today and take up the opportunity to walk a section of this 6,000-kilometre-long marvel. Your next stops are one of the largest jade exhibitions in Asian and a working cloisonné factory.

Spend the evening watching a performance of this large-scale dramatic musical. Additional cost applies.
Day 6: Beijing (B, L)
Tour the resplendent Summer Palace today and see its preserved gardens up close. It used to be the former summer resort of imperial emperors. Move from the Palace to the Panda House at Beijing Zoo; then an institute to learn about traditional Chinese medicine and enjoy a rejuvenating foot massage.
Optional: Hutong Life tour and Kung Fu Show
Join an optional Hutong Life tour and explore Beijing’s ancient alleyways and hutongs by pedicab, or shop up a storm at Wangfujing, one Beijng’s most famous shopping streets. Cap off the day by indulging in some entertainment at a local Kung Fu Show. Additional cost applies.
Day 7: Beijing –– Wuxi (B,D)
A high-speed train whisks you to Wuxi today. Known as the ‘Land of Fish and Rice’, Wuxi has an incredible history that spans more than three thousand years. Explore Wuxi and enjoy the views of Lake Tai, the third-largest freshwater lake in China.
Optional: Grand Canal Cruise
Take a cruise along the picturesque Grand Canal to see Wuxi from a different perspective. Additional cost applies.
Day 8: Wuxi – Suzhou (B,L)
Move from Wuxi to Suzhou following a visit to a freshwater pearl exhibition. Suzhou has been frequented by Chinese writers and poets for decades and is dubbed both ‘Venice of the East’ and ‘Garden City’ thanks to its waterways and manicured green spaces. One of the places you’ll see while in Suzhou is the Lingering Garden.
Day 9: Suzhou – Hangzhou (B, L, D)
Learn how silkworms produce the luxurious textile on an excursion to a working silk-spinning mill. Then travel by coach to Hangzhou, a city renowned for its beauty and West Lake. Take a scenic boat ride on the lake and take note of the city’s historical and cultural sites.

Watch a performance of the grand Impression West Lake show, an open-air spectacle conducted on the water. Additional cost applies.
Day 10: Hangzhou – Shanghai (B,L)
Savour a cup of tea as you call in to a tea plantation for a tasting and then continue by coach to Shanghai. This vibrant metropolis is the commercial epicentre of China and offers a remarkable juxtaposition of old and new China. Walk the Bund, a mile-long promenade that snakes along the Huangpu River, and unearth the treasures of Nanjing Road.

Day 11: Shanghai (B, D)
Take in the incredible views of Shanghai from the Observatory Deck of the Jin Mao Tower and move to the City God Temple area to explore.
Optional: Huangpu River Cruise
Spend your last night in mainland China aboard an afternoon/evening cruise along the Huangpu River. Additional cost applies.
Day 12: Shanghai – Hong Kong (B)
Breakfast at the hotel and then be transferred to the airport for your flight to Hong Kong. A transfer takes you to the hotel and you have free time for the rest of the day.
Day 13: Hong Kong (B)
There is a half-day tour of Hong Kong Island, which takes you to Victoria Peak, Stanley Market and Aberdeen Fishing Village. The rest of the day is yours to enjoy how you like.
Day 14: Hong Kong (B)
You have the whole day as free time.
Optional: Disneyland Hong Kong or Macau Day Tour

Day 15: Hong Kong – – New Zealand(B)
At the necessary time, a transfer takes you to the airport and you will catch a return flight to New Zealand.
Day 16: New Zealand
Arrive home today.
