Day 1: New Zealand – – Beijing
Head to the airport and board your flight bound for Beijing. Upon arrival, be transferred to your hotel where the remainder of the day is yours at leisure.

Day 2: Beijing (B, L)
Today see’s you head out to discover some of Beijing’s most iconic sites. Head to the impressive Tiananmen Square, one of the largest public squares in the world. Next stop is the ancient Forbidden City where you’ll take part in an exclusive tour, before heading out to the Hutong area for a rickshaw tour around the local streets. Enjoy a traditional meal with a local family, then head back to the hotel for the rest of the day at leisure.
Day 3: Beijing (B, L, D)
Wake early to set out to bare witness to one of China’s greatest wonders, the magnificent Great Wall. Take the opportunity to climb a section of this iconic monument, taking in the picturesque views below. After, head to Beijing’s largest Jade factory where you’ll have the chance to learn about the process that goes into manufacturing the gorgeous gems. Visit the site of the 2008 Olympic Games, including the incredible Bird’s Nest, and enjoy a free oriental foot massage at a local Chinese medical centre, where you’ll learn the insiders tips and tricks to the art of Chinese Medicine.
Day 4: Beijing – – Hangzhou (B)
Travel to Hangzhou this morning via bullet train. Known for it’s spectacular beauty and rich heritage, Hangzhou is a much loved destination for many travellers around the world. Transfer to your hotel where the rest of the day is yours at leisure.
Day 5: Hangzhou (B, L)
Set out on a city tour of Hangzhou today. One of the sights you’ll visit is the iconic West Lake, known for its magnificent temples, beautiful gardens and inspiring landscapes which have shaped the works of poets, scholars and artists since the 9th Century. In the afternoon visit a local tea plantation where you’ll learn about the picking process.
Day 6: Hangzhou – Suzhou (B, L)
Arrive in Suzhou. Spend time in the morning exploring the Master of Nets Garden, before enjoying lunch. The rest of the day is yours at leisure. Perhaps opt to head out on the optional tour of a boat trip along Suzhou’s Grand Canal.
Optional: Suzhou Grand Canal. Enjoy a boat trip along the world’s longest canal, taking in the impressive scenery and beautiful homes along the way. Additional cost applies.
Day 7: Suzhou – Shanghai (B, L, D)
Enjoy a delicious breakfast this morning before journeying to one of China’s most famous silk factory’s. Head to the city of Shanghai, divided into two parts by the flowing water of the Huangpu River. Known for it’s impressive skyscrapers, with some of their tallest buildings including the Jinmao Building and the Oriental Pearl TV Tower. The rest of the evening is yours at leisure.

Day 8: Shanghai (B, L)
Visit the Nanjing walking district this morning and explore the Shanghai Museum. Continue on to the Bund and see where the new and the old side of the cities meet. The rest of the afternoon is yours to enjoy however you like.
Optional: Huangpu River cruise. Cruise along the beautiful waterway, taking in the iconic sights of Shanghai including the Pu Dong business district, Shanghai Harbour the Bund and more. Additional cost applies.
Day 9: Shanghai – Yichang – Yangtze River cruise (B, D)
Transfer to Yichang ready to board your deluxe cruise of Yangtze River. The third largest river in the world and the largest in Asia, the sheer natural beauty of this impressive waterway is simply extraordinary. Winding its way through spectacular scenery and stunning gorges, this incredible ship will be your home for the next 4 nights.
Day 10: Yangtze River cruise (B, L, D)
Cruise your way through the magnificent Three Gorges Dam today. The day is yours to do as little or as much as you like. Spend time relaxing on-board or choose to participate in one of today’s activities. Later tonight you’ll enjoy a Captain’s Welcome Banquet and a Chinese dancing ball.
Today’s excursions: Three Gorges Dam Site. Visit one of the largest constructions undertaken in the world, admiring the biggest hydropower project in the world. Additional cost applies.
Day 11: Yangtze River cruise (B, L, D)
Today is yours to do as little or as much as you like. Take in the picturesque scenery from top-deck, or head out on one of today’s excursions.
Today’s excursions: Lesser Three Gorges or Shennong Stream. Hop on-board a smaller vessel and get up close the impressive cliffs and spectacular mountains that line their way along the Lesser Three Gorges and Shennong Stream. Additional cost applies.
Day 12: Yangtze River cruise (B, L, D)
Journey through the mountains of Eastern Sichuan today. Make the most of your last full day on-board the cruise, spending your free-time however you like. Enjoy a farewell dinner tonight.
Today’s excursions: Fengdu Ghost City or Shibaozhai Pagoga. Visit the city of ghosts today, exploring the many temples and pagodas that populate this eerie location. Additional cost applies.
Day 13: Chongqing – Xi’an (B, L)
Disembark the ship and transfer to Xi’an by bullet train. Upon arrival you will be transferred where the rest of the day is yours at leisure. A city with over 3,000 years of incredible history, be sure to get out and about to explore what this sensational place has to offer.
Day 14: Xi’an (B, L)
Head out to see the Wild Goose Pagoda this morning. Continue on to the Provincial Museum and the Ancient City Wall, originally built in 194BC and the oldest city wall in the whole of China. The rest of the evening is yours to do as little or as much as you like.
Optional: Tang Dynasty Show Performance and Dumpling Banquet. Additional cost applies.
Day 15: Xi’an (B, L, D)
Today sees the tour visit the iconic and ancient Terracotta Warriors. Discovered by accident in 1974, the incredible 7000 soldiers, horses and chariots have stood tall guarding Emperor Qin’s tomb since 210BC. Stop via a local factory on the way to this extraordinary site, and learn about the creation and preservation of the Warrior Vaults. Enjoy lunch before strolling through the famous Moslem Street.
Day 16: Xi’an – Chengdu (B)
Transfer to Chengdu this morning, the home of Giant Pandas and spicy Sichuan peppercorns. Spend the afternoon relaxing at leisure.
Day 17: Chengdu (B, L)
This morning you’ll get acquainted with the iconic Giant Pandas at the Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Learn about the way the centre tries to preserve the species, and get up close to their playful cousins, the Red Pandas. Head to Jinli Old Street in the afternoon and explore its eclectic streets.

Day 18: Chengdu (B, L)
Visit the impressive Leshan Giant Buddha today. Towering at an incredible 71 metres tall, the magnificent stone monument and the largest stone Buddha in the world, is carved out of the side of steep cliff face. Today is the last day of your China tour so be sure to soak it up!
Day 19: Chengdu – – New Zealand (B)
Transfer to the airport today ready to board your flight back to New Zealand.

Arrive home today.
