Highlights

Make for some of the Mediterranean’s most famous cities and sights on this 16 day Classic Italy tour with deluxe Greek Islands cruise.

The history of Rome is, simply put, astounding. Italy’s Eternal City has ancient sites and landmarks around almost every corner. You’ll see the top sights on a guided tour of Imperial Rome – some of the names you can tick off include the Vittorio Emanuele II Monument, Circus Maximus, Aventine Hill and parts of the Roman Forum. The piece de resistance of this excursion, however, has to be the guided experience through the Colosseum. Next on the Italian hit-list is Florence, the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance and the city that served as inspiration to the likes of da Vinci, Botticelli and Michelangelo. A walking tour sees you move past the Duomo and Ponte and Palazzo Vecchio, plus you also have free time to roam Florence’s cobblestone streets at your own pace. The last stop of your Italian adventure is Venice. Getting lost in Venice’s maze of alleyways will be just one of the memories you leave this canal-strewn city with.

Venice marks your embarkment point for the Greek Islands cruise, sailing aboard Royal Caribbean’s lavish Rhapsody of the Seas. This extraordinary cruise ship is more akin to a floating city and comes equipped with restaurants, bars, lounges, swimming pools, theatres, and much more. Make first port in Kotor, a pretty-as-a-picture town on the Adriatic Coast of Montenegro. It is then onto Corfu to wander along beaches, learn about palaces and explore the Old Town, and then Athens, the lively Greek capital that flaunts a history stretching back a staggering 2,500 years. Making time to see the Acropolis and Parthenon while here is sure to be on many traveller’s wish lists. Magical Mykonos is the penultimate stop on the cruise and lastly, the Rhapsody of the Seas docks at Argostoli on Kefalonia, the largest of the Ionian Islands.

A coach then takes the group by Circus Maximus and Aventine Hill. See another of Michelangelo’s handiworks, the statue of Moses, at the Church of St. Peter’s in Chains.
